Having fun with Yahoo! Answers

The moment I started joining Yahoo! Answers, it gave me some feeling ofYahoo! Answers amazement to see people actually answering questions from other Yahoo! members. Thus, I started to look for questions where I could probably share some of my insights and limited experiences.

Yahoo! gives a points system for all the users of the Yahoo! Answers community. Initially, upon registration, you got 100 points. For every question that you answer, you get 2 more points. These points can be accumulated until you reach 250 points where you will be brought to Level 2. Currently I am still at Level 1, but it will only be a matter of days that I can move to Level 2.

I still don’t get though, what you could with those points. Yahoo! also gives a penalty for every answer found to be unsuitable, or that violates their Terms of Service. So spamming is not tolerated in the community. I have not looked at how much they deduct, but its better not experience it anyway.

To boost your points, you either have to answer lots of questions as much as you can, or probably consider a few questions but give out your best answer. Each answer considered by the Asker as the Best answer entitles you to a 10 points bonus. Currently, I have a 23% performance for all of my answers – hmmm, not bad at all.

Another good thing about this service – the members are very appreciative for any help that you can give, they even send you emails to thank you, and some would even ask for more information. Although I tried to avoid promoting some stuff, but if its what could answer to certain question, I would give out the links. To date, this process gave me several new sign-ups on my various affiliate and referral programs. This also helped me generate new unique visitors of my Blog, aside from the usual Entrecard traffic.
